Chapainawabganj-3 by-polls: Cocktails, clashes at polling stations

Supporters of Awami League candidate Odud Biswas and supporters of independent candidate Samiul Haque Liton clashed and chased each other at the district Adarsha High School polling station in Chapainawabganj-3 by-election.

It is known that independent candidate Samiul Haque Liton visited the center after the polling started on Wednesday morning. At that time, an outsider was asked to leave the center and brawl created between the two candidates. Then, independent candidate Liton clashed with Awami League leader Abdul Hakim. Both sides engaged in chases and skirmishes. Later the police came and controlled the situation.

At that time an unexploded cocktail was found in the field. RAB's bomb disposal team arrived and recovered the cocktail.

The presiding officer of the center, Shahidul Islam, said that the two sides suddenly clashed. Later, the situation came under control.
