Sarah Cooke appointed British high commissioner to Bangladesh

Sarah Cooke has been appointed as the new British High Commissioner to Bangladesh, replacing Robert Chatterton Dickson.

Cooke will start her job in April or May 2023, according to a press release from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).

Sarah Catherine Cooke has been working as head of FCDO's South East Asia Department since 2020.

She served as the British High Commissioner to Dar es Salaam as well as the Head of the Growth and Resilience Department for the Department of International Development (DFID) in Bangladesh.

She also worked in different capacities in the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, DFID, and the UK, Guyana, and Solomon Islands Ministries of Trade and Commerce.

Sarah Cooke worked as an economic consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers as well.
