3 DU students suspended for tarnishing university's image

 The Dhaka University authorities have suspended three students on the charges of tarnishing the image of the university, engaging in misconduct and conducting anti-disciplinary activities. 

DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman today approved the suspension order of the trio, reads a press release issued by the DU public relations office on Tuesday. 

The suspended students are - Fazle Navid Anan, of the Theatre and Performance Studies department, Md Rahat Rahman of the Management Information Systems (MIS) dept, and Sadik Ahmed of the Social Welfare and Research Institute. 

The authorities also issued a show-cause notice asking the suspended students to explain why they will not be permanently expelled from the university for the offenses.

Earlier, on February 6, the three DU students were arrested for robbing the driver of a covered van near the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) area of the capital.
