29 muggers arrested by RAB in capital

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested 29 alleged muggers in separate drives in the capital and recovered huge number of sharp weapons from their possessions last night.

RAB-2 senior ASP (media) Md Fajlul Haque told BSS Friday morning that acting on a tip-off, teams of RAB-2 made the arrests in separate drives in capital's Mohammadpur, Adabor, Hajaribagh, Dhanmandi and Tejgaon area.

RAB recovered huge number of knives, straight razors, and other sharp weapons from the possession of the arrestees, he added.

They will be handed over to local police stations and legal actions will be taken in this regard, RAB sources said.
