Jyotika Jyoti made director of Shilpakala Academy

Popular actress Jyotika Jyoti has been appointed as the director of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.

Ministry of Public Administration published a notification in this regard on Tuesday.

It said that Jyoti has been appointed on contractual basis for the next two years. She is one of four directors of Shilpakala Academy.

However, it is not known yet what role she will perform.

Apart from acting, Jyoti of Mymensingh is involved in Awami League politics. She is currently included in the party's Forest and Environment sub-committee.

In 2016, Jyoti secured nomination paper of AL to participate in the by-election in Mymensingh-3 seat. The actress also sought nomination from the Awami League in the 11th national elections.
