Prothom Alo journalist Shams taken to court

Prothom Alo reporter Samsuzzaman Shams has taken to a Dhaka court on Thursday morning in connection with a case filed against him under Digital Security Act.

Deputy Commissioner of Ramna Division Md Shahidullah said he was shown arrested and sent to a Dhaka court.

He was picked up from his Savar residence.

Shams was picked up by CID men from his residence in Ambagan area, adjacent to Jahangirnagar University, around 4:30 am on Wednesday.

A case was filed against Shams under the DSA with the Tejgaon Police Station early Wednesday.

On Wednesday night, Prothom Alo Editor and Publisher Matiur Rahman was sued under the DSA with Ramna Police Station in the city.

Apart from Matiur Rahman, reporter Samsuzzaman, an unnamed assistant cameraman, and unnamed others were also sued under the same DSA.
