Bangladesh-France relations reach strategic partnership: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said the relationship between France and Bangladesh has developed and is now moving toward becoming a strategic and impartial collaboration.

"As an ally, France has always been revered by Bangladesh. Our common interests in sustainable growth have furthered the relationship's development into a strategic partnership, she said.

The French Ambassador to Bangladesh, Marie Masdupuy, was recently appointed when the premier made the comments during a courtesy visit to her at her residence in Ganabhaban.

After the discussion, Ihsanul Karim, the PM's press secretary, briefed the media.

According to Karim, the premier voiced satisfaction over the two nations' expanding relationship and cooperation in a number of areas over the past 50 years, building on the foundation laid by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Father of the Nation.
