Devastating fire engulfs Bangabazar

Water is being sprinkled from helicopters of Air Force to tame the fire in Bangabazar, Fulbaria of the capital.

A devastating fire has broken out at Bangabazar market in the capital on Tuesday morning.

The fire was reported at 6:15am, Fire Service Control Room Duty Officer Rafi Al Faruq told The Daily Samkal.

A total of forty-seven units of fire service are working to bring the fire under control.

The cause of the fire could not be known immediately.

No casualties have been reported so far.

According to the ISPR, a joint support team of the Bangladesh Army and a support team of the Bangladesh Air Force and a helicopter are working to control the fire in Bangabazar.

The fire in Bangabazar has spread to the adjacent building Annexco Tower.

Meanwhile, after getting the news of the fire, the traders of the market reached the spot and tried to take out the goods from the shops. However, it is very difficult to move the goods due to the smoke of the fire.
