Agargaon-Motijheel metro line to start by November: Obaidul Quader

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said the Agargaon-Motijheel section of metro rail will open to traffic by November.

The minister was talking to journalists at Secretariat on Thursday.

Earlier in the day, a contract signing event was held.

Quader also said that metro rail operation from Agargaon to Motijheel was scheduled to begin in December.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the metro rail section from Uttara (Diabari) to Agargaon on December 28. From the day after the inauguration, commercial operation of metro rail in Dhaka started with ordinary passengers.

At present, metro rail trains from Uttara to Agargaon are running every day from 8 am to 2 pm. Metrorail operation is closed on Tuesday as a weekend.
