War criminal Alim Uddin arrested

War criminal Alim Uddin Khan has been arrested from Beldia village of Kauraid union of Gazipur's Sreepur Upazila on Sunday afternoon.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pagla Police Station Rasheduzzaman said Alim Uddin was hiding for a long time at the house of his daughter Reena Akhter in Beldia village of the upazila. 

The war convict was arrested with the help of Sreepur police station, he added.

The OC said Alim Uddin, son of Abdul Gafur Khan of Sadhua village of Pagla Police Station, was booked in the International Criminal Tribunal in 2016. The court sentenced him to 20 years in prison for murder, rape and looting during the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971.
