Police have nabbed three more men in connection with the
murder of Jubo League leader Jamal Hossain in Daudkandi Upazila of Cumilla.
The arrestees are – Md Sumon Hossain, 27; Robi, 33; and
Shahparan, 34, all hailing from Titas Upazila of Cumilla district.
Police conducted drives in various locations of Dhaka and
Narayanganj from Saturday night to Sunday, during which they were able to
arrest the three men. Police also recovered a car, shoes, burqa and hijab used
in the murder.
Cumilla District Superintendent of Police Abdul Mannan
confirmed the matter during a press conference at his office on Monday
afternoon.
Earlier, three suspects were arrested from Dhaka and Chattogram
in connection with the murder. They are – Md Ismail, Sohel Shikdar, and Shah
Alam.
Jamal, 38, son of Fazlul Haque and resident of Ziarkandi
village of Titas Upazila, was shot dead by three burqa-clad men at Gauripur
West Bazar of Daudkandi Upazila of Cumilla on April 30. He was joint convener
of Titas Upazila Jubo League.
