100 electric buses to be launched in Dhaka city

Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh said 100 electric buses will be added to the capital's public transport in October.

Taposh made the disclosure at a press conference after the 27th meeting of the Bus Route Rationalization Committee at Fulbaria Nagar Bhaban in the city on Tuesday.

Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation Atiqul Islam was present on the occasion. 

Taposh said, “Our urban transport is progressing well. Within this year, 100 electric buses will be launched, which will be operated by Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation.”

He also said they can make Dhaka city an environment friendly city through the introduction of the electric buses.
