Dearness allowance proposal for govt officials not raised

The proposal to allocate dearness allowance to government
officials and employees was not raised in the high-level meeting regarding the
upcoming national budget with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The finance ministry placed its budget proposals in a
meeting held at the PM’s official residence Ganabhaban on Wednesday night.
An official present at the meeting said Finance Minister AHM
Mustafa Kamal neither put forth the issue of dearness allowance, nor discuss the related issue at the meeting.
