2,000 houses destroyed by Mocha in Cox's Bazar

Some 2,000 houses in Cox's Bazar have been destroyed by Cyclone Mocha, said Cox's Bazar Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Shahin Imran.

He also said some 10,000 houses were damaged in the entire district due to the cyclone.

At around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, he told The Daily Samakal that nearly 1,200 houses on the island of Saint Martin were completely destroyed by the Cyclone Mocha.

The Deputy Commissioner further said several people were injured in the cyclone. However, no one has been reported killed so far, he added.
