Budget session to begin on May 31

The budget session of the 11th Jatiya Sangsad will begin at 5 pm on May 31.

President Mohammed Sahabuddin has convened the budget session on Sunday exercising the power bestowed upon him as per clause (1) of article 72 of the constitution.

Officials of the Parliament Secretariat said this year the budget will be passed a little earlier than other years due to Eid-ul-Azha that will be celebrated at the end of June.

A source in the Parliament Secretariat said the budget for the fiscal year 2023-24 may be passed on June 25.

The final decision on these matters will be taken into account at the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee of the Parliament at 4 pm on the day of the opening of the budget session.
