Metro rail to operate 12hrs daily from May 31

The Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) has announced that the metro rail will be operational for 12 hours every day from May 31.

The operation, however, will remain closed on Friday.

According to a DMTCL notification issued Thursday, the metro rail will run from 8am to 8pm every day on the Uttara-Agargaon route.

The metro rail will operate from 8am to 11am (peak hour) and 3:01pm to 6pm (peak hour) on 10-minute intervals. It will operate on 15-minute intervals from 11:01am to 3pm (off-peak hours) and 6:01pm to 8pm (off-peak hours).

At present the operating hours of the Dhaka metro rail are 8am to 2pm, and it remains closed every Tuesday.
