Bhola's Elisha well recognised as country's 29th gas field

Elisha well in Bhola was named the 29th gas field in the country.

State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid made the announcement during a press release at his residence in the city on Monday.

"The well has 200 billion cubic feet of gas in its reserves. In the domestic market, this amount of gas is worth Tk 6,500 crore. Taking the price of imported LNG into consideration, the price of this gas can be estimated at Tk 26,000 crore," said Nasrul.

"Gas will be available for the next 26-30 years from this field," he added.
