Speaker leaves for Japan

Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad, has left Dhaka for Japan on Tuesday at the invitation of Speaker of the House of the Representatives of Japan.

Shirin is leading a Bangladesh parliamentary delegation that includes AFM Ruhal Huq, Abul Kalam M Ahsanul Huq Chowdhury, Badruddoza M Farhad Hossain, Khadijatul Anwar and Kanij Fatema Ahmed.

The Speaker is set to meet with the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan, President of the House of Councilors of Japan, leaders of the Japan-Bangladesh Committee for Commercial and Economic Cooperation and Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI).

Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury is expected to return home on May 29.
