Govt not upset about US visa policy: Shahriar Alam

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam said the Bangladesh government is not upset about the new visa policy announced by the United States.

The state minister made the remark in an immediate reaction after the announcement of the new visa policy of the United States for Bangladesh on Wednesday.

He said that the government is determined to hold free and fair elections.

Alam said, “It is not a ban. BNP should be worried about the new visa policy because this ban can be imposed on them if they commit violence before or during the election.”

The official response in this regard will be given on Thursday after knowing the details of the new US visa policy.
