Govt to give Tk 33.20cr incentive to increase Aman paddy production

The government will give an incentive of Tk 33.20 crore to increase the cultivation and production of Aman paddy this year.

"A total of 4.90 lakh small and marginal farmers from across the country will get free seeds and fertilisers under this incentive," read an agriculture ministry press release issued Sunday.

Under this incentive, each farmer will get five kgs of seeds, 10 kgs of DAP, and 10 kgs of MOP fertilisers free of cost for cultivating a high-yielding verity of Ropa Aman paddy on each bigha of land, it said.

The incentive will be disbursed from the regular budget of the agriculture ministry for agricultural rehabilitation assistance, and the seed and sapling sector, the release reads, adding that a government order has already been issued in this regard.

Incentive distribution activities will begin at the field level soon, the release further added.
