Nipun Roy secures 3-month anticipatory bail

The High Court on Monday granted a three-month anticipatory bail to BNP central executive committee member Nipun Roy Chowdhury in a case filed regarding an Awami League-BNP clash in Keraniganj on Friday.

A High Court bench of Justice Md Habibul Gani and Justice Ahmed Sohel passed the order, said Nipun Roy's lawyer Nitai Roy Chowdhury.

A total of 108 leaders and activists of the BNP, including Nipun Roy Chowdhury, were sued on Saturday. Sumon Miah, president of Zinzira union Swechchha Sebok League, filed the case at Keraniganj Model Police Station. Friday's clash left around 50 people injured.
