8 get death penalty for killing BCL man in Lakshmipur

A Lakshmipur court on Monday sentenced eight individuals to death for killing Chhatra League (BCL) leader Mehedi Hasan Jasim.

The convicts receiving the death penalty are – Ali Hossain Bacchu, Md Mostafa, Md Khokon, Abul Hossain, Mobarak Ullah, Kabir Hossain Ripon, Jafar Ahmed, and Hizbur Rahman Swapan.

Confirming the matter, Public Prosecutor (PP) of the court Advocate Jasim Uddin told the Daily Samakal that police submitted a charge sheet against 12 people in the case, four of whom have died. The court pronounced the verdict for the other eight.
