Cartoonist Shikha dies

Cartoonist Shahanara Nargis Shikha has passed away on Tuesday morning, according to family sources. 

She was taking treatment at the Ahsania Mission Cancer and General Hospital at Uttara in the capital city of Dhaka.

After her namaz-e-janaza in the graveyard mosque, Shikha was buried in the Rayer Bazar Intellectual graveyard in Dhaka after Asr prayers.

In addition to her role with Prothom Alo and the satire magazine Unmad for many years, she also worked as a book illustrator and cover designer.

Born in Dhaka in January 1979, Shikha did her master's degree in statistics at the University of Dhaka.
