142-storey iconic tower to be built: Kamal

The government has made plan to construct a 142-storey iconic tower in Bangladesh, Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said.

"In future, there are plans to build a 142-storey iconic tower with modern and aesthetic architecture to the east of Dhaka along with the construction of Bangabandhu Satellite City at both the ends of the Padma Multi-purpose Bridge," he said.

The minister came up with the updated while placing the national budget for 2023-24 fiscal year at Jatiya Sangsad on Thursday.

The finance minister claims that a strategy has been created to construct integrated office buildings for a variety of government agencies functioning at the district level. 

It should be noted that a notification was released mandating the use of solely eco-friendly materials and techniques in all government construction and maintenance projects by the year 2025. 

He went on to say that in order to comply with this regulation, environmentally friendly blocks, autoclaved aerated concrete panels, and other materials are being developed.
