BNP leader Salahuddin can return home any time: Foreign Ministry

The ministry of home affairs has approved the application of BNP leader Salahuddin Ahmed to return to home from India. 

Rafiqul Islam, arcing Director General of the public diplomacy wing of the foreign ministry made the disclosure while talking to reporters on Thursday.

“BNP Standing Committee Member Salahuddin Ahmed, who was acquitted by Meghalaya's Shillong Judge's Court in the case of trespassing into India, can now travel to Bangladesh, Rafiqul Islam said.

The ministry of foreign affairs has contacted the Bangladesh Mission in Guwahati of Assam, India in this regard, he added.

When asked when Salahuddin will be able to return to the country, he said, “It will depend on him. He can return home anytime.”
