Electricity problem to be solved within 2 weeks: Mannan

Planning Minister MA Mannan has said that the prevailing electricity supply shortage situation will be solved within the next two weeks.

"Payra Power Plant will start operating again as soon as we get coal. The government is trying hard to solve the electricity supply shortage... The electricity problem will be solved within the next two weeks," he said on Friday.

The minister made the remarks at the MA Mannan merit scholarship distribution event at Dungria High School and College in Shantinagar Upazila of Sunamganj.

Mentioning that the prices of commodities have lessened, the minister said, "The price of onion in the markets is starting to go down. Market prices of commodities will be monitored."

He also added, "Loadshading is happening. Some time is needed to solve this problem. The government is working on a solution."
