4 held with stolen RNPP parts

Security personnel have detained four people with machinery parts stolen from the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant (RNPP) from the power plant's project area.

The detained individuals are Tanik Islam, 18, Md Rayhan Pramanik, 20, Shuvo Biswas, 18, and Sakib Pramanik, 28. They were captured from an area of the RNPP project under the jurisdiction of Nikim company on Friday. 

RNPP police outpost Sub-Inspector Parvez said four individuals were detained with the help of the project's security personnel early on Friday. Stolen goods were seized from them.

Police then contacted Nikim, whose representative came and confirmed that the parts were stolen. A security official of the company then filed a case against them. The four men were handed over to the Ishwardi Police Station on Friday evening.

Confirming the matter, Ishwardi Police Station Officer-in-Charge Arbind Sarkar said, "A theft case was filed against four individuals."
