DU launches software to digitize classes, exam evaluation

Dhaka University (DU) has launched a learning management system software titled 'DUBDLMS' at its campus to bring classes, courses, examination management and evaluation system under automation.

While inaugurating the software at the university's Abdul Matin Virtual Classroom on Wednesday, DU Vice Chancellor Dr Akhtaruzzaman said, "The software has been launched to avert interruption of the university's academic activities during any adverse situation.

"Through the software, classes, courses, examination management system will be brought under automation."

VC Akhtaruzzaman added that the software will also facilitate to evaluate and publish the result of the university's regular examination promptly.

Necessary measures have been taken to ensure the security of the data and information stored in the software, the VC said, adding, "Training and workshop will be organised to make the teachers and students familiar with the software."

The VC hoped the software would benefit both the teachers and students, and the quality of education will also be enhanced.

According to a university press release, a team under the direction of Professor Dr. Mohammad Asif, director of DU's ICL cell, created the software.

Professor Momtaj Uddin Ahmed, the DU treasurer, Dr. Mohammad Samad, the DU Pro-VC for Administration, Dr. ASM Maksud Kamal, the DU Pro-VC for Academics, and deans from several faculties were among those in attendance.
