Eid-ul-Azha vacation extended another day

The decision to extend the Eid-ul-Azha vacation by a day was taken at a cabinet meeting.

As a result, government officials and staff will enjoy five days of holiday, starting on June 27 and ending on July 1.

The cabinet took the decision at a meeting held on Monday at Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's office.

Replying to a question about the extension, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said on Sunday the extension would be logical. The minister was talking to reporters at the secretariat.

The proposal to extend the Eid holiday by one day and starting the holidays from June 27 was made on June 13 at a cabinet meeting at the secretariat.

After the meeting, Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque said the proposal was made to make travel hassle-free for the people.
