Govt to construct high-rise apartments at Purbachal for low-income people

The construction of high-rise residences at the Purbachal New Town Project on a PPP basis for members of the low-income category has received preliminary approval from the government.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA)'s 14th meeting of the year, which was held virtually on Thursday with Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal in the chair, gave its approval. 

After the meeting, Md Mahmudul Hossain Khan, Cabinet Division Secretary for Coordination and Reforms, gave a virtual press conference and announced that RAJUK would now build high-rise apartments at the Purbachal New Town project on a PPP basis rather than the earlier proposed G to G agreement with Singapore.

Sectors 3, 8, 9, 10, 13, 25, and 29 of the Purbachal will be the locations of the high-rise apartments.
