RNPP to be inaugurated in September: Yeafesh

The Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant (RNPP) will be inaugurated in September, Science and Technology Minister Architect Yeafesh Osman has said.

"Russian President Vladimir Putin may join the inauguration ceremony virtually," the minister said.

He was speaking at a press conference arranged to inaugurate the smartphone-based app 'Surjo Bidyut' developed by the Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR) on Saturday.

Regarding the recent load-shedding problems, the minister said, "The problem occurred due to the global war situation. Bangladesh has now recovered a lot from the problem."

The Surjo Bidyut app for solar power users can be downloaded from the Google Play Store in the next 72 hours.
