Falling crane kills 3 in Demra

A crane fell from an under-construction building, crushing three workers to death and injuring two more at Dhaka's Demra on Saturday.

The incident happened at around 2:30pm, confirmed Demra Police Station Officer-in-Charge Shafiqur Rahman.

Construction work on the seventh floor of a building at Sanarpar of Demra area was ongoing. A crane was lifting various supplies when it broke and crushed the workers standing underneath. Three workers died immediately following the incident.

The deceased were yet to be identified, police sources said.
