BMD predicts heavy rainfall in 4 divisions

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has issued a heavy rainfall warning in four divisions of the country.

"Due to active Monsoon heavy (44-88mm) to very heavy (88mm or more) rainfall with gusty wind is likely to occur at places over Chattogram, Khulna, Barishal and Sylhet divisions," reads a BMD bulletin issued Saturday afternoon.

The warning will be valid for the next 48 hours, commencing at 3pm on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the met office also issued an inland riverport warning on Saturday afternoon.

"Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary South/South-easterly gusty or squally wind speed 45-60kph is likely to occur over the regions of Jashore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barishal, Patuaklhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Dhaka, Faridpur, Madaripur, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar and Sylhet wherein riverports shall hoist Cautionary Signal No One (R) One," the warning read.

This forecast will be valid till 1am on Sunday, commencing at 4pm on Saturday.
