Adani's second unit starts power supply

Bangladesh can now import more electricity from the Adani power plant in India because the second unit has started operation.

Adani Power on Monday informed the Mumbai stock exchange that the second unit started commercial operations at 24:00 BST after successfully completing the reliability run tests.

The power station is located in the Indian state of Jharkhand, around 100 kilometers from the Bangladeshi border. 

Bangladesh will be able to purchase electricity as per need from this 1,496 megawatts power plant. 

On April 7, the first plant, which has a 748 MW capacity, started operating commercially.
