Road accident kills two Bangladeshis in Portugal

A road accident has killed two Bangladeshis in Entroncamento municipality under the district of Santarém in Portugal. The accident also injured three Portuguese citizens.

The deceased were identified as Shahinur Rahman, 27, hailing from South Balukhand of Nawabganj in Dhaka, and Ibrahim Akhand, 41, hailing from Rajoir of Madaripur. The accident happened when they were returning home from work in a company car on Saturday evening.

After the accident, National Republican Guard (GNR) and doctors declared the two Bangladeshis dead.

One of the injured Portuguese citizens was sent to Lisbon for better treatment. The two other injured were released after first aid treatment.

The bodies of the deceased were sent to the Santarém Central Hospital morgue. The process of bringing their bodies back to Bangladesh is ongoing.
