1,239 dengue hospitalisations, 5 deaths in a day

Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said a total of five dengue patients died and 1,239 were admitted to different hospitals in the country during the past 24 hours till 8 am on Thursday.

A total of 756 dengue patients were hospitalised in Dhaka city and 483 were admitted to different hospitals outside it, it added.

So far, some 93 deaths were reported from dengue disease this year while 269 died last year.

With the new cases, the total number of patients rose to 17,382 the statement said.

Meanwhile, some 13,220 patients were released from different hospitals this year among the total patients.
