Power disruption in parts of Dhaka from July 16-22

Electricity supply in various areas in Dhaka city will be disrupted from Sunday (July 16) to Saturday (July 22), the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources said on Saturday.

According to a power ministry press release, the Power Grid Company of Bangladesh (PGCB) will put in place a new, 230/132 kV, 450MVA transformer to improve the efficiency of the 133/32 kV substation in Rampura. The work will continue for seven days, from 7am on July 16 to 5pm on July 22.

As a result of this work, some areas in Dhaka under Dhaka Power Distribution Company (DPDC) and Dhaka Electric Supply Company Limited (DESCO) will be partially disrupted, the release adds.
