Dhaka's rail communication restored after nearly 5 hours

The temporary workers of Bangladesh Railway have suspended their work abstention after nearly five hours, allowing the capital's rail connection with the rest of the country to resume.

Trains to and from Dhaka started running at 2:55 pm, according to Khairul Kabir, BR's divisional transport officer (Dhaka division).

Workers in Karwan Bazar stopped the rails at 10am on Sunday morning, cutting off rail service between Dhaka and the rest of the country.

They made the decision to take down the barricade at 2:30 pm, and they are now making their way to the Rail Bhaban to state their demands there.

Among the demands are that BR stop outsourcing employment and make them permanent workers.
