31-kg gold recovered at Dhaka airport

Members of Customs Intelligence and other law enforcement agencies have recovered 27-kilograms of gold during two separate drives at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) on Sunday.

This information was disclosed in a press release of Dhaka Custom House on Monday.

Segufta Mahjabin, Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Custom House said customs officials recovered egg size liquid gold pest wrapped with blue color scotch-tape after searching an Emirates flight (EK-584) landed in the airport on Sunday night from Dubai. 

Acting on a tip off, customs and other agency officials, in another drive, recovered 3.5-kilograms of gold and ornaments from three passengers returned from Dubai on Sunday afternoon.

The three passengers are Moshiur Rahman Rubel of Bagerhat, Jahangir Alam of Munshiganj and Akbar Hossain of Narayanganj.
