Dry weather likely in Dhaka: Met office

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted dry weather over Dhaka and neighbouring areas. It has also predicted rain in some places in all eight divisions of the country.

Meanwhile, a low-pressure area is likely to form over Northwest Bay and adjoining areas in the next 72 hours, the BMD forecast.

In the weather forecast for Dhaka and the neighbourhood issued on Tuesday morning, the BMD said, "Weather may remain mainly dry over the area."

It also said the sky may remain partly cloudy to temporarily cloudy, and that day temperature may rise slightly.

Meanwhile, the weather bulletin for the entire country reads, "Light to moderate rain and thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions, with moderately heavy falls at places over the country."

Day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, read the forecast valid for 24 hours, commencing at 9am on Tuesday.
