EU human rights official due in Dhaka Monday

Eamon Gilmore, the European Union's Special Representative for Human Rights, is scheduled to visit Dhaka on Monday to discuss issues of shared concern, notably those relating to rights.

Gilmore will visit the Rohingya camps in Cox's Bazar during his six-day travel and speak with relevant government officials, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In order to discuss human rights issues, Eamon will meet with government officials in Dhaka.

He would likely meet with several ministers in addition to civil society representatives.

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam recently traveled to Brussels and spoke with a number of people, including Gilmore in the first week of May. He then extended an invitation to Gilmore to travel to Bangladesh.
