Nazmul Hassan takes charge as Naval Chief

M Nazmul Hassan, newly appointed Chief of Naval Staff, has taken charge.

On Monday, a ceremony at Naval Headquarters was held to celebrate the handover of the charge, said an ISPR press release.

Rear Admiral M Shaheen Iqbal has been replaced by Vice Admiral M Nazmul Hassan.

Vice Admiral M Nazmul Hassan, the recently appointed Chief of Naval Staff, took official control of the Bangladesh Navy by signing the command handing and taking over book.

High officials of the Bangladesh Navy, principal staff officers, area commanders, administrative authorities, managing directors of dockyards, and shipyards attended the occasion.

On July 1, 1986, M Nazmul Hassan was commissioned in the Bangladesh Navy. 

He has held a number of staff, instructional, and command positions over his long and accomplished career, and at various levels.

He oversaw four Bangladesh Navy warships, including the Training Frigate BNS UMAR FAROOQ.

For his remarkable contribution to service life, he received the Extraordinary Service Medal (OSM).

Vice Admiral Nazmul is wed to Nadia Sultana and they are blessed with a son and a daughter.
