AL earns Tk 10 crore and spends Tk 7 crore

The ruling Awami League (AL) submitted its audit report to the Election Commission (EC) on Monday.

As per the report, AL's earning was Taka 10,71,35,768 in 2022 while its expenditure was Taka 7,86,84,579. Total amount of bank balance is Taka 73,28,21,355 in that year. 

On behalf of the AL, its Treasurer HN Ashiqur Rahman submitted the report to ES Secretary Md Jahangir Alam. AL Publicity and Publications Secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap and Office Secretary Barrister Biplab Barua were present.

Later, he read out the report before journalists.

The party's earnings came from selling of nomination forms, primary membership collection forms and from properties. It showed salaries and allowances of officials and employees, cost for running the organization and publications' cost as its expenditure. 

In 2021, AL's total earnings was Taka 21,23,46,106 while expenditure was Taka 6,30,19,852. As per the report, though the party's income reduced, expenditure increased this time. But fund has increased.

In the last year, AL's fund was Taka 70,43,70,166.
