LPG price goes up

The price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) has gone up for the month of August.

The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission's (BERC) took the decision on Wednesday.

The new costs will take effect on Wednesday at 6:00pm.

Retail customers would now pay Tk 1,140 for a 12kg LPG cylinder, an increase of Tk 141 that includes all VAT and taxes.

Md Nurul Amin, the chairman of BERC, declared that prices for other LPG cylinders weighing between 5.5kg and 45kg would rise proportionately.

He was addressing a news conference at the BERC office in Dhaka on Wednesday.

According to Nurul Amin, LPG will cost Tk 91.14 per kilogram while a liter of autogas will cost Tk 52.17.
