Maritime ports to keep hoisted cautionary signal 3

Maritime ports of Bangladesh were asked to keep hoisted the Local Cautionary Signal No Three as squally weather is likely to continue over the North Bay and adjoining coastal areas.

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) issued a bulletin in this regard on Thursday.

Referring to a monsoon depression and the steep pressure gradient created under its influence, the bulletin reads, "Squally weather is likely to continue over North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh.

Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla, and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted Local Cautionary Signal No Three (R) three."

The BMD also advised fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution.
