Promotion of assistant teachers as headmasters begins

The process of elevating assistant teachers to the position of head teacher in primary schools got underway recently.

The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education on Thursday issued an office order for the promotion of 201 assistant teachers of Lakshmipur Sadar, Kamalnagar, and Raipur upazilas of Lakshmipur district to the post of head teacher (grade-11, pay scale-12,500-30,230 taka), in light of the recommendations of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission.

The decision came in this regard as the difficulties associated with giving promotion to government primary school teachers have been resolved.

The long-standing wish of the assistant teachers has come to an end with the issuance of this office order.

On the morning of August 8, the newly promoted head teachers have been asked to join the district's Primary Education Officer in his or her new position.

Anyone who doesn't sign up by the specified date will be declared ineligible for promotion, and their order of promotion will be cancelled.

Within two working days of the new teachers' joining date, they will be posted.
