BJP keen to collaborate with AL for regional political stability: Nadda

The president of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), J.P. Nadda, declared that his party is eager to work with the Bangladesh Awami League (AL) in the future to promote political stability and further the fight against terrorism in the region.

The BJP leader came up with the pledge while the visiting five-member AL delegation held a meeting with him at his residence in New Delhi on Monday.

Various issues were discussed at the meeting, including regional political stability, Bangladesh's economic growth, lowering militancy, and India-Bangladesh relations, according to meeting sources.

According to Nadda, India and Bangladesh have enjoyed cordial ties ever since Bangladesh's independence war in 1971.

He said that in 1971, a motion in support of Bangladesh was introduced in the Indian parliament by Atal Bihari Bajpyee, a youthful lawmaker who later became prime minister of India.

On the party's 43rd Foundation Day, JP Nadda, the national president of the BJP, unveiled the "KNOW BJP" project for the organization's outreach to the outside world.

A five-member delegation of Bangladesh Awami League left Dhaka for New Delhi at the invitation of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday.

The team left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) on a three-day tour at around 5:00 pm.

Dr. Hasan Mahmud, joint general secretary and minister of information and broadcasting, and Dr. Abdur Razzaque, member of the AL Presidium and minister of agriculture, are leading the delegation. 

AL Organizing Secretary Sujit Roy Nandi, Central Working Committee Member Prof Merina Jahan, MP, and Aroma Dutta, MP are other members of the team.
