India extends cooperation for development of Bangladesh: Verma

Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Verma has said India always wants to stay with Bangladesh in the journey of development.

"Friendly relations exist between Bangladesh and India... geographically and culturally, there is a close relation between the two countries," he told a meeting of Matua Mahasangha in Kashiani upazila of Gopalganj on Wednesday.

Pranay Verma said, "Indian soldiers had sacrificed their lives during the Great War of Liberation in 1971. So, the relation between Bangladesh and India is written by blood."

Representatives of Matua Mahasangha attended the meeting, among others.
