Former state minister gets 3 years of prison over embezzlement

A Dhaka court on Monday sentenced former state minister for Liberation War Affairs Redwan Ahmed to three years in jail for embezzling Tk 50 lakh from Freedom Fighters.

Judge Md Akhtaruzzaman of Dhaka Special Judge Court-2 delivered the verdict. The former state minister was also fined Tk 50 lakh in the case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). As Redwan Ahmed was absent during the verdict, the court issued an arrest warrant against him.
