Dengue death toll now over 400

The country has reported 18 more dengue fatalities as of Monday morning, increasing the total number of deaths from the mosquito-borne disease this year to 416.

Of the total deaths, 165 people died of dengue in the month of August.

According to information from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 2,480 more patients were admitted to hospitals during that time, raising the total number of dengue-related hospitalizations for this year to 87,891 patients.

After 179 people died from dengue in 2019, the country experienced 281 death cases in 2022—the highest amount ever.
